Divide by form

A long book usually contains smaller kinds of reading: scene, reflection, description, argument. Naming the current mode makes shifts feel intentional rather than obstructive.

Set weekly landmarks

Choose a chapter group or narrative turn for the week. A landmark survives a missed day better than a fragile daily streak.

Leave yourself a return note

Record the active question and the last changed relationship. Two sentences are often enough to make a week-long gap easy to cross.
